FOUR WAYS TO CONNECT TO GOD (part1)

Over the next four weeks, I want to give you four exciting ways to connect to God.

Have you ever been using an electronic device and you get the warning, ‘your battery device is low, connect to a charger?’ These warnings are helpful; as you respond quickly by locating a source of power to connect to, enabling your device to remain powered up and fit for purpose.

It is only natural that as you do life that you lose power. Feeling tired, stressed or distressed are common effects; However, they are the tell-tale signs that indicate a need for you to connect to your charger-to your power source.

So If you know that Jesus Christ is your power source, cultivating a connecting attitude is what will see you not only, surviving but thriving through life being powered up and fit for purpose.

‘If you are to be empowered – you must connect to your source of empowerment’

I hear you ask, how do I connect to my source of power? Well If the truth be told, it is a well-known fact that we are motivated by pain or pleasure. For the most part, we do what we love and we associate with people we love – it’s a fact! In other words telling you to connect means nothing if you don’t first love.

So let me give you the first of four exciting ways to connect…

1.Fall in love with your Bible

Matt 4:4  But he answered and said, it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God

Four Mini Keys To Fall In Love With Your Bible

First things first, connect to God by embracing these key motivating perspective: You are loved by God. The Bible is no  ordinary book but it is the inspired word of God and it is full of love messages to you. (love letters)

If you are the person saying, ‘I don’t like the king James Bible – I don’t get it.’  I hear your cry. It’s not a problem, you don’t have to like it because there are numerous translations out there. You have choice! The New International Version, The Message, The New Living Translation; and the list goes on; just sample a few and make your choice.

Let your preferred communication style help you to fall in love with your Bible. So, If words on a page excite you – read the Bible. If you love audio – listen to the Bible, if you enjoy a visual experience; get a Bible with words and pictures. It is that simple – you choose.

Feeling like you have no time to even look at or listen to scriptures? Well, what if I told you that you do and you can. Don’t feel guilty if you can’t do it for fifteen minutes or the length dogmatised by others. What about five minutes? – five minutes of refreshing and revelation is better than no minutes of refreshing and revelation.
